Landscape
Who doesn't appreciate Chinese landscape paintings? The challenge is composing a breathtaking view in your mind and recreating that on paper. And the sense of achievement you get when it comes out right? A LOT!
Lotus
The Lotus is always special to me for the simple yet enigmatic style that can be created. The gigantic leaves provides an impressionistic background to its hard-stroke subjects like the birds or flowers. Abstract elegance.
Fish
To me, fish represent simplicity, freedom and life. They have no worries and are never alone as they swim playfully in the clear cools waters, looking so elegant to the viewer.
Flowers & Trees
'When you like a flower, you pluck it. When you love a flower, you look after and grow with it.' The beautiful array of flora that has stuck with me in my garden says it all.
Others
Having spent my early years in a kampong (village), I miss the sight of naturally wild and undomesticated animals...sights that are no longer common in our contemporary world.
